I went to Portland. I left Portland.
Pretty boring trip, actually. I started feeling sick the day before I left so by time I arrived, this crap that's going around was in full swing. I took an early flight with the idea that I would run when I got there. Instead, I went right to the hotel and laid in bed. I only had one day of work, and I actually got out early. Again, went right to bed.
I am back home now and am feeling better. Still no running right now; the Achilles is still feeling a little gammy (my new favorite word). It's feeling a lot better, but I am going to give it a couple more days.
I did go to the gym this morning for some much needed weight training--had a GREAT workout.
I figure I will hop on the bike tomorrow like Terri suggested. I will be back out there in no time.
Sorry about this tremendously boring post. There's really nothing new going on. Oh, we are getting Christmas pictures done tomorrow so that should be fun (yeah right). Speaking of Christmas, one of my favorite Christmas movies came on the other day: Love, Actually. Not really a Christmas movie per se, but it is set during Christmas time. If you haven't seen it, rent it today. You will laugh, you will cry, you might find it a bit too sappy and turn it off early, but I don't recommend it. Here is one of my favorite clips from the movie. To set it up, Hugh Grant plays the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Enjoy.

Love Actually is THE BEST! "I'm off in 3 weeks to a fantastic place called Wisconsin!" Cracks. Me. Up.
One of my favorite movies!! I might have to watch it this weekend :)
I adore Love, Actually... such a good flick.
Hope you get feeling better, the Achilles gets feeling better and your Christmas pictures go well. Have a great weekend, Chris!
Sorry to hear you got sick like that, but I am glad you listened to your body and didn't overexert. I don't know how you do all that traveling and don't get sick more often since planes are such germ tubes! Believe me, the bike will totally help you.
hope the cross-training and rest has helped your achilles!
