Boy o boy has it been a busy couple of weeks. On top of Piper's birthday and Christmas, I managed to find a new job! Resumes, interviews, offer letters oh my!
And there it is. My not-so-big big news. No, we are not having another baby. That wouldn't be big news. That would be a miracle.
I can't tell you how excited I am about leaving my current job and starting something new. I will be going from a large company to a small start-up. I am employee number 18! A little scary, sure. But it is one of those opportunities that is just too good to pass up. I won't have to move but it is still a travel job. I start January 12th.
My running has been near-extinct lately. I am going to the gym almost daily for running and weight training, but I am not doing very much distance work at all. Just too darn cold to go outside--and running on the treadmill for more than 4 miles is almost impossible. I am so lazy. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 60's so I will head to the lake for a run.
Races? None for me, thanks. I wish, though. And there hasn't been much on the calendar lately. It looks like there is a 5k on the 1st but I plan on being too tired to run that. After that, it looks like the next race is on the 14th of February. Bummer. The local races always seem to motivate me.
I hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas. And have fun on this New Year's eve. Oh, and no resolutions! They never work.

Congrats on the new job! I hope you're taking time off between jobs . . .I didn't when I changed jobs last year (long story) and I regretted it. (Not the job change, just the lack of a break)
Thanks Jenn. I am taking a week off. If I took any more than that, I would go crazy. Plus I wouldn't have any medical insurance!
Congrats on the new job Chris!!
congrats! You're lucky to be able to change jobs in this economy. In my industry everyone is just trying to hang on to the job they have for dear life! Glad to hear your getting some time off too.
Congratulations on the new job! I hope it works out really well for you.
Nice goal, being too tired for the 5K on the 1st. I laughed at that one! :-)
congrats on the new job, and a little time off to relax (hopefully anyway)! good luck in tiring yourself out for the 5k. that's one tough goal ;)
ok, i admit it, I thought it was a baby (the news, anyway.) And you are not lazy for not running more than 4 miles on the treadmill, you are human. I want to shoot myself too in that situation.
Congrats on the new job, I hope you are very happy there! to get another job in this economy, that is GREAT!
