I was going for 5 miles but did 4. But it was a hell of a 4 mile run. I did six 2-minute speed intervals at a 7:30 pace. I was suppose to run at a slower pace for 2 minutes in-between the speed bursts, but I walked about half of them because I was so winded after each interval. I think maybe I went too fast. This is the first time I had done 2-minute intervals; normally I do 1-minute which I think I will go back to next time. I am able to recover a little easier and finish my entire run. All in all, it was a good run.
I did the run on our NEW PaceMaster Gold Elite VR treadmill. Wifey recently started back to work and with me traveling so much, it is impossible for her to get to the gym during the week. So she talked me in to getting a treadmill for the house. Now, she can run while the lil one sleeps. Today was my first run on it and I was pretty impressed. Although it was more than I wanted to spend, I just could not bring myself to buy one from Sears, which is where we first looked. The first one I jumped on at Sears started to shake violently at 6.0 speed. I asked the sales guy, or sales kid, if that was normal and he told me that the guys who put it together did not bolt it together properly. Strike one! So I found another model to try. This one would not even turn on. Sales-Kid told me that he thought it was broke. Strike two! I told him that he might want to get that fixed since a customer is not likely to buy something that is broken in the store. He didn't seem to care. We did not wait for a third strike; we went right to a specialty fitness equipment store. They had lots of models and they all worked properly! Hard to imagine. Short story long, I am happy with the purchase...for now. We will see how often it gets used. If it turns in to a clothes rack, I will be pretty upset.
